Our olive oil
The extra virgin olive oil (EVO) you can find on the table is our family owned production; it comes from about 600 olive trees, mix of local variety (Leccino Frantoio, Moraiolo, Pendolino and Olivastra), located in front of the restaurant. Our olive oil is sold under “Poggio Maestro” brand, you can find it at our restaurant and soon, it will be also available on our online shop. You can follow us on our Facebook and Instagram pages to be updated about our work all year long. You can also contact us to book your own bottle in advice. For those who stay a few days in Montepulciano we organize, with a minimum number of people, a brief course on olive oil quality with a final tasting of three different oils, each one paired with a local dish (about 90 minutes). Olive oil is a valuable product but unfortunately it is not appreciated by the majority of consumers due to a lack of knowledge; due to this reason we got the idea to prepare a very short technical presentation, plus a tasting, with the aim to show you how to approach the olive oil and recognize its quality.
